City Tour in Cusco
It's a complete experience exploring the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. On this tour, you'll visit the city's main archaeological and cultural sites, such as the imposing Cusco Cathedral, the Church of the Society of Jesus, the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), and famous nearby ruins such as Sacsayhuamán, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. Guided by a local expert, this tour will allow you to learn about the rich history and fusion of Inca and colonial culture, all while enjoying Cusco's unique charm.
Itinerary
This tour begins at 1:00 PM. All pickup is from your hotel. We’ll begin our tour with a visit to the Q’oricancha temple (paying S/. 20 as it’s a private company) where we’ll appreciate the Inca and colonial architecture. We’ll then visit the Sacsayhuaman archaeological complex. This area is believed to have been used for city administration and military purposes. The Inti Raymi festival of the sun is also held here. We’ll then head to Q’enqo, where we’ll explore the caves and sculpted stone figures. Our guide will give us a brief explanation of this site. We’ll then visit the Puca Pucara fortress (Red Fortress), believed to have served as a gateway to Cusco. Finally, we’ll visit Tambomachay, a former water cult site where we’ll appreciate its hydraulic engineering. We’ll return to Cusco at 6:30 PM.
